Hold The Bacteria
Continued from our Retreat & Renew Daily Tip.
Follow these simple guidelines to keep nasty bacteria, like E. coli and salmonella, out of your food!
· Keep your fridge at the right temperature—between 32 and 40 degrees.
· Don’t thaw food on the counter. It’s better to use the microwave if you can’t thaw something in the fridge.
· Know the use-by dates. We like this site, shelflifeadvice.com to find out when to throw away nearly anything.
· Disinfect your sponges. Zap a wet (never dry!) sponge in the microwave for 60 seconds or run it through a dishwasher cycle. Be sure to replace sponges often!
