Pillow Talk
Don't forget your pillows and sheets, including decorative ones. Pillows also harbor dirt and dust mites. Many pillows can be washed in the machine. Check the tag. If the pillow is machine washable, wash it in the hottest water possible to kill bacteria.
In addition to your laundry detergent (which will not kill dust mites) use an anti-allergen added to the wash cycle like DeMite. DeMite is non-toxic and removes mite allergens and residue from any soft goods.
Tumble dry per normal.
Since they are closest to your face, protect your pillows from stains, hair and skin product residue (and future mites) with a cotton pillow protector like the one from LinenSpa. You can put your pillowcase right over it. And, bonus, it makes an even fluffier pillow.
