SoulCycle, Barre Method, Kettlebells ... Oh My!
Melissa Williams, HL&S Editor | Co-Owner, Yoga Junction
The warm weather is here and with that the option of taking your workout outside. But there are some cool new inside techniques to check out!
If you’re not a runner or a cyclist, and you’d prefer a workout inside, summer also offers a great time to try new classes, as the room tends to be a bit less packed.
Take this time and learn something new!
Not sure where to start? We’ve done the snooping for you.
Love yoga? But need more cardio? Try SoulCycle. Offered at studios around the country, SoulCycle is a hybrid class combining 45 minutes of high-octane cardio with empowering affirmations, helping you leave your worries behind with your sweat.
Want a beach bod? Try the Barre Method. Using micromovements, the barre-based class helps tone the butt, legs and core (think: long and lean). Some classes also use exercise balls and handweights. Barre studios are all over the country, including such gyms as Equinox and Crunch.
Anyone ever try kettlebells?!
Once mandatory for Soviet Special Forces, kettlebells can certainly increase your fitness and they're fun! With one kettlebell, you can perform a multitude of movements that increase strength, mobility, flexibility, power, endurance, balance, mental toughness, and overall athleticism.
