Cool It On The Product Pile On

Jolene Hart, Beauty Editor

You give your skin the best of the best: natural products, a nutritious diet, and protection from aging UV rays, but is still seems less than content.

What gives?!

Your problem could be that you’re going overboard.

You probably do an incredibly thorough cleansing, toning and moisturizing + serum ritual on your face morning and night, and yet it still gives you kickback, in the form of redness, sensitivity, dryness and even breakouts.

Your routine is just too much.

There’s evidence that most of us can get away with only one soapy facial wash a day (at night time, when you remove your makeup), and our skin will fare better for it. Less soaping and rinsing away natural oils means that our skin barrier remains intact, so it can do its job of keeping skin calm and even.
Washing twice a day (or more!) can disrupt that natural balance.

So try it— in the morning, splash your face with tepid water and very gently exfoliate with a damp washcloth; follow with your daily moisturizer and sun protection. Or better yet get a good moisturizer that has sun block. You could even skip washing altogether and go right for the protection. You may just find that your skin says thank you by glowing back at you.

How about hair? Funny thing is—similar logic applies to shampooing as well! To learn all about ‘no-pooing' , the popular alternative to shampooing, CLICK HERE!

 strawberry cheesecake, which
packs in about 300 calories and
18 grams of fat (most of which is
