Continued from our Retreat & Renew Daily Tip.
Ready to throw your own scent soiree? You’ll need a group of fragrance-loving friends who want to share their favorite perfumes and discover a few new fragrance obsessions.
Have your guests bring at least one bottle of perfume that they are willing to share with the group, along with a few key details about the prominent fragrance notes in their fragrance pick.
As the host, you’ll provide scent strips, coffee bean sachets (ideal for cleansing the olfactory system after each sniff), sample perfume vials or atomizers (check out supplies online), and a scorecard for guests to rate their top scent picks.
Have guests mingle, discuss and sample each fragrance and rate their favorites on the score card you provide. Each guest gets to take home a sample of their most-loved fragrance of the day, by decanting a small amount into a mini atomizer.
If your guests show up with several bottles, encourage them to swap and trade as they wish!
Here’s what your guests’ fragrance picks may say about their personalities:
White Flowers:
(jasmine, tuberose, gardenia) White flower fragrances convey romance and elegance, making them a favorite of brides on their wedding day. These scents are likely to appeal to the most ladylike women in your group.
Woods:
(sandalwood, oak, cedar) Woody fragrances tend toward the exotic, which makes them the perfect picks for date night. Your wildest friends (or those who are wild at heart) will be drawn to them.
Green/Chypre:
(grass, green tea, herbs) Green fragrances are naturally earthy and fresh and your most balanced friends will wear them to feel zen, whether they’re practicing yoga or enjoying a hike in the great
outdoors.
Fruity:
(raspberry, peach, green apple) Fruity fragrances feel young and sweet, so they’re usually a hit with the most girlie of girls. Hints of juicy fruit go naturally with pretty pink dresses and sparkling manicures, wouldn’t you agree?
