Into the Light: The Meditation Music of Deva Premal

Deva Premal’s ethereal vocals and the music of her partner, Miten, have been keeping me company during my yoga practice since I first chanced upon their music during a massage session five years ago. It’s the only time I’ve ever left a spa with the name of an artist and recording written down in my notebook. In this latest collection (which includes a booklet of the written verses and English translations), Premal and Miten offer eight sacred mantras and chants that gently fill all the corners of the space around me, subtly shifting the energy into vibrations of pure light and love. Premal was only five years old when she began chanting the Gayatri Mantra, and went on to study reflexology, Shiatsu, massage, and craniosacral therapy. Together, Premal and Miten have collaborated on over a dozen separate projects.
