Part of the carbon-neutral Tabacon Grand Spa Thermal Resort, The Grand Spa – member of The Leading Spas of the World - is set in one of the world’s most beautiful locations, amidst lush foliage and thermal springs in the Costa Rican rainforest.  The Spa location, at the base of Arenal Volcano, creates a distinctive blend of nature, adventure and relaxation.

Treatments are rendered in 11 open-air bungalows, all with private Jacuzzi. An extensive spa menu features relaxation and therapeutic treatments including outdoor manicure/pedicures plus open-air yoga classes and the Temazcal, a native purifying and detoxifying ritual performed in a sweat lodge by a Shaman (native doctor). Tabacon’s Temazcal is the first of its kind in Central America and the only one in the world in an energetic active volcanic environment.

Exclusive couple’s massages and services including volcanic mud are part of the signature treatments at Tabacon. Also the new Lifestyle and Wellness Program offers a special spa menu with natural ingredients and Ayurveda principles.

Two restaurants are available, Ave del Paraiso Restaurant overlooking the thermal springs and Los Tucanes Restaurant our fine dining open-air option located at the hotel. Specialties as Indian Tandoor dishes, Ayurveda and Spa Cuisine are available.

A Romantic Gala Dinner is one of a kind experience where you will enjoy a private dinner in an open air bungalow in the middle of the rainforest with your own chef and waiter.

The Tabacon Grand Spa experience starts with the natural hydrotherapy provided by the hot springs and waterfalls, naturally heated and fed by the Arenal Volcano. The minerals dissolved in the springs are known to relax and heal, giving you an unusual and beneficial experience.

The Grand Spa's menu of treatments range from body massages to exfoliations and wraps. Ayurvedic treatment such as Shirodhara, or an outdoor Watsu underwater massage.

At Tabacón we created a unique Lifestyle and Wellness Program.

Our guests can participate in exclusive programs that are 7, 14 or 21 nights that encompass diet, supervised-nutrition, exercise, lifestyle and spirituality, learning methods of healthful living and weight management. Programs are under the supervision of a licensed nutritionist with an extensive background in nutrition, exercise and physiology.
