Some wine conossiours snub their noses at organic wine saying it tastes too earthy and is of poor quality. But vino lovers the world around know better. It is possible to find noteworthy organic wines with excellent flavor and aroma if you know where to start.
First of all, 'organic' wines are different than 'wines made with organic grapes.' The former must not contain sulfites, a preservative used in most wine making processes to perfect the taste of the wine, and must use organic grapes. Wines made with organic grapes, are exactly that, wines made with organic grapes that may or may not contain sulfites. If you are one of those individuals with a sensitivity to sulfites (you develop headaches and migraines), look for the USDA Organic seal to ensure that the winery not only uses organic grapes but also avoids sulfites.
