If you’ve got a date or a party to attend the last thing you want is a bloated belly. Try these tricks to help eliminate and prevent the pooch.
Maricyasana. This yoga posture helps improve digestion. To get started, come to a comfortable seat and extend your legs straight. Bend your right knee, drawing the right heel in toward your right sit bone. Place the sole of the foot on the floor. Place your right hand behind your right hip, lengthen your spine and keep your chest lifted. Inhale your left arm high toward the sky, on the exhale, hook your left elbow around your right knee. Use this leverage to deepen the twist. Stay here for 8 breaths and switch sides.
Did you know that alcohol and coffee can make your stomach feel worse? Specifically a lot of cocktails are made with citrus, which combined with alcohol can cause a distended and uncomfortable belly. Skip the alcohol and try tea, ideally an herbal blend. If you’re already feeling a little poochy, try drinking one of the yogurt beverages or kefir drinks on the market- the probiotics help keep things feeling and moving, well, smoothly.
Find a good probiotic with loads of beneficial bacteria species in it. I take 3 pills a day from Natren: Pro Bio Superdophilus, Pro Bio Bifidonate, and 3- Pro Bio Bulgaricum.
Skip the salt. No brainer, salt makes you hold water and water retention can lead to bloating!
