Just for Men

When it comes to skincare men tend to take little notice. Well guess what guys, your skin deserves a little love once in a while! But don’t just go to the drug store and pick up any old soap, lotion or cleanser; there are several companies that cater to your skin’s specific criteria, including the side effects of shaving (or not), preference against flowery scents, and oil-free options. Here are a few of the best:

Organix South Men’s Shaving & Complexion Botanical Cleansing Bar has all of the necessary ingredients to satisfy a man it was formulated by a chemist, and is rich with shea butter, neem (which in addition to nourishing dry skin protects the skin from free radicals) and oakmoss to calm skin and minimize irritation. ($7)

Surya Brasil’s Sapien Facial Scrub is made just for men. The organic scrub exfoliates with green clay and acai grains while removing impurities and controlling oiliness. The subtle woodsy aroma is derived from an essential oil blend including, cedarwood, lemon, bergamot, and clove. ($29)

King of Shaves AlphaOil Shave Oil lets razors glide along the skin knick-free, leaving once stubbly skin smooth and moisturized without clogging pores. And since it’s totally clear, you can see exactly were you are shaving, ensuring no missed spots and perfect shaping! ($7)

CLEAN’s Shower Fresh For Men is a simple, invigorating, and very manly scent featuring notes of cedarwood, bergamot, and black tea perfect for the T-shirt and jeans type, leaving that quintessential just-from-the-shower scent. Clean is good. ($69) Philip B’s Scent of Santa Fe Balancing Shampoo is exactly what men who don’t like to fuss with their hair need: a multi-tasking antibacterial shampoo that soothes, nourishes and cleanses both the hair and scalp with vitamins and plant extracts. Natural oils of pi±on, sage, and juniper berry evoke the scent of the Sangrª de Cristo Mountains. ($29)

Skin care guru to the stars, Ole Henriksen, has created a new shaving gel, Clean Shave that is designed for men who prefer a more natural scent. The lightly foaming gel is enriched with aloe, cucumber and eucalyptus, and is also paraben-free. And, ladies.. it works wonderfully for the bikini line and underarm, too. Don’t worry we won’t tell. ($28)

Men like body scrubs, too. Seriously! The Art of Shaving’s Body Scrub features tangerine essential oil and eucalyptus to activate circulation, while soy beans, grapeseed oil, and soy milk replenish moisture. North African rhassoul clay also helps detoxify the skin, and provides a more manly scrubbing experience. ($22)

And remember spas cater to men as well, offering a variety of therapies specifically geared toward the manliest of men. Not sure where to start? Read more here.
