Let’s chat!  HL&S will lead the conversation for you, here’s what you need to know:

WHAT IS A TWITTER CHAT?

  • An interactive social media strategy to host a forum discussion online and publicly where everyone (part of the chat or not) can see everyone’s responses.
    Often times, people who see it in their feed unknowingly and have the time to participate, will randomly jump in. The real push is to get people RSVP’d OR to start from the beginning with you as an eligibility requirement. Everyone answers together, one question at a time; commenting on others’ answers, retweeting comments they love and “liking” comments to show the other chatters that they are heard, etc
  • We understand that twitter ranks one of the highest in clickthroughs (if not the highest). With that fact, giveaways or brand promotion is the emphasized push behind a twitter chat to send your product or message out with a purpose. Link backs entice participants to learn more.
  • A hashtag is created and anyone who uses this hashtag will show up in the twitter chat feed; the chat will usually run for 1 one hour with evenings/weekdays proving to be the most effective time.
  • Having chats regularly will gain traction and enthusiasm ultimately gaining potential sales, promoters, and brand recognition.

WHO OPERATES THESE TWITTER CHATS?

  • SPONSOR: The brand collaborating with the Hosts. Using your brand’s twitter handle, you are responsible for coming up with prizes, how many prizes, shipping of prizes, preparing any links/photos/material etc that get sent out during the chat. Additionally, the sponsor can also provide specific questions to the host.
  • ORGANIZER: The main host will be HL&S and *Sami Marquez –  Chief Social Media Interactor. Responsible for opening the chat starting introductions. Responsible for preparing several questions to ask the participants. The host is also a time keeper to manage the pace of the twitter chat; generally it moves quickly and requires undivided attention, especially if there are numerous participants. Also in charge of who announces the winners of the grand prize once chosen (this can be a day later once all of the entries have been assessed). 
  • CO-HOST: Sami or HL&S. Contributes to engagement and interaction assisting the main host. Also responsible for gathering all prize winners’ information to give to Sponsor.
  • PANELISTS: Are essentially promoters who stay engaged with the participants but interacting with their tweets. These panelists are not hosts and can be representatives involved with either brand or hired in from the outside.

WHERE DOES EVERYONE GO FOR THE CHAT?

WHAT KIND OF REACH CAN I EXPECT?

  • HL&S Twitter has a rising account of 18K followers and ranked Top 5 (for the past several years) by Hootsuite for all accounts tagged #SPA.
  • All twitter chats will be accompanied by or hosted by our Chief Social Media Interactor: *Sami Sattva of Mindful Hellos. Sami’s account @MindfulSami currently has a rising account of 32K+ followers and is an experienced Twitter Chat host.
