First you need to warm up. Determine where your anger resides. This is the easy part. Just examine your body’s language. Are your shoulders pressed up to your ears? Is your jaw clenched? Focus on those parts, breathe into them, and visualize them relaxing as your anger is freed.
Try a little improvisational dance. Grab a scarf. That will be the embodiment of your anger. Holding it with your non-dominant hand, dance around with it. Notice how it moves. Does it swirl around or tangle between your legs? As you continue to dance, are its movements calming down?
Try posing. In yoga, the spiritual warrior represents a soldier that does not fight, but instead inspires harmony. Stand in Spiritual Warrior Pose and behold the potency of peace.
Stomp on it. The mind is a very powerful thing. Write your strife on a post-it and affix it to the bottom of your shoe. Go out for a long run. Each time that foot hits the pavement, your problem’s power is fading. Once you return home, you won’t even be able to discern it.
Once you complete your anger-obics routine, the root of your rage will be but a speck on your shoe. Smile, laugh, and you will find your self happier. Move your body to modify your mind.
