We gathered up our list of 6 new wellness trends developing in 2014 and while we are certain these will evolve with time, they are here to stay for at least a while!
Take a peek
Dried Juice:
Maybe you have already seen fresh green juice making its way to your local grocery store. Thanks to new technologies, fresh squeezed juice is easier to get than ever. In 2014 there will be even more bands competing for your greenbacks. “Juicing is good for you and doing it often can help improve your health in many ways,” says the health expert
Dr. Barrett.
New companies like Aloha are coming up with dried green juice. The first powered juice, all you do is add water and viola, you have instant green juice! This is new to the marketplace, but expect to see a lot more throughout 2014.
Instagram Yogies:
2013 brought more social connections than ever before. One thing we noticed that blew up is the amount of yogi poses shared on instagram. We love yoga, and connecting online is of course always inspiring, this is one trend we will see take off even more. Yoga teachers are becoming famous online, posting photos of them and students. Get in on the fun and use hashtag #HealingLifestyles we’d love to see your favorite poses.
Alternative to Sugar:
We have been trying to find a better sugar and low and behold we found one! A healthier, sweetener agave was the princess of diets all around the world, until we discovered the high fructose content that happens during processing. Outta the way agave, welcome coconut sugar, it is low-glycemic, and tastes great!
Lighten Up for Health:
Science
proves that poor lighting can damage your health, including your sleep, your mood and you ability to function. New research confirms that artificial lighting hurts your health. There are more digital lights, sun lights and bulbs that use less energy hitting the market. Light therapy is a great way to feel better and boost your mood.
Moderation + Meditation:
True balance is about moderation. We see more and more people realizing that the best way to be healthy is to have balance. And for many, this means meditation. Many people come to mediation to sleep more and find a deeper sense of purpose, however, using mediation to balance your day is a growing trend. Many people are turning to mediation in the workday.
This new crop of people flocking to meditation are looking to enhance their performance at work, which is why there’s a meditation influence in Silicon Valley and in Wall Street. What was once seen as a new-age hobby is now considered a smart practice that will give you an edge to excel at work. Companies like Google, Aetna and Nike have meditation programs in place now for their employees. Look for more employers to jump on this ancient bandwagon in 2014.
Digital Detox
Although Facebook, Twitter and Pinterst are great to connect, many people are seeing the benefit of going offline. We are starting to see how online habits can negatively affect our health. Welcome the ‘digital detox’, which we are proud to share officially became a word in the Oxford dictionary earlier this year.
More people are celebrating life and embracing “disconnecting.” There are businesses that exist to help you un-plug. The popular
“Digital Detox”
retreat is a new favorite.
