Eco Bath Guide

Spas make you want to lounge in the bathroom, whether taking a hot shower, soaking in a luxurious bathtub, or just walking across the beautiful (and gently heated) tile floors. Why not make your home bathroom just as much of an experience? Here we’ve provided you with a list of amenities that are easy to add (no carpenter necessary) that will make you want to stay, soak, and spa.

Crate & Barrel recently expanded their eco line and now offer bamboo bath accessories that are stylish, and made from a renewable resource. The collection includes a tray, tissue box, soap pump, soap dish, and waste can. ($3.95-$34.95)

EcoGen’s bath accessories allow you to change the mood of your bathroom, without feeling guilty that you’re wasting resources. Let your kiddos wrap themselves in toxin-free towels, too. Made from 100% terry velour bamboo and organic cotton, Bambooh Brand towels are extra soft, yet dry much quicker than a standard towel (which makes the hefty price seem much more worthwhile.) Who wouldn’t want to wrap up and be a princess, mermaid, or better yet robot? ($38-60)

Be sure to switch out your showerhead, too. And, if you’re feeling handy (or are doing a total remodel) you’ll want to swap out your old toilet for a new water-efficient model. Kohler offers a variety of water-saving bathroom suites, including toilets, showerheads, sinks, and even waterless urinals! The toilets save nearly 3,200 gallons of water a year.

Finally, be sure to scent your new eco bathroom with soy candles made without any petroleum or chemicals. We love Ergo Candles Paris Cr¨me Brulee in a glass votive. Now, if we could only stay away from the real cr¨me brulee. ($24)

Feeling, well, lounge-y? Great. That’s the point.
