Did you know that herbs and spices are fruits and vegetables?
Botanically-speaking, that’s exactly what they are. And like fruits and veggies, our fresh and dried herbs and spices are high in healthy antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
Sprinkle dried oregano on your day using one of these suggestions or experiments (and share!) your own:
- Shake some oregano onto a piece of toast with grated gruyere cheese and sliced tomato.
- Add some dashes of oregano directly to your salad or whisk into your salad dressing.
- Spoon 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano per cup of tomato sauce to get that extra bit of Italiano.
- Power up your parmesan by adding dried oregano to grated parmesan before passing it around to sprinkle on top of pasta dishes.
- Use oregano in your marinades for fish or chicken.
- Boost your bean dishes by adding oregano terrific with black beans and 3-bean salads.
- Add a healthy sprinkle of oregano into your favorite savory casseroles or lasagna.
