Spa with Style in Copenhagen

0

Grande Dame of Copenhagen hotels, the 250-year-old Hotel D’Angleterre has hosted everyone from Winston Churchill to Metallica in posh continental style. The rooms are fit for royalty (an impressive list of crowned heads have stayed in them) and with the recent opening of the hotel’s new spa every guest can enjoy the royal treatment.

Named for fitness trainer Lotte Arndal, who manages the spa and designed its treatments, Arndal at D’Angleterre offers a small but comprehensive menu of massages, scrubs, and facials (using Ole Henriksen products). Packages include a three-hour Jetlag Recovery treatment consisting of a body scrub followed by a mud bath, hot stone massage, facial, and paraffin treatment on the hands and feet.

The spa also boasts a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, and the largest indoor hotel pool in Scandinavia – a tile-lined haven surrounded by murals to make you feel like a Roman empress descending into a ritual bath.

If you’re staying at the hotel, use of the pool, sauna, steam room, relaxation room, and fitness center are free. If you’re not a guest, you can still book treatments and buy a day pass to use the facilities. For more information call +45 3337 0100 or visit www.remmen.dk or www.arndal.net.
