Procrastination is a habitual problem and unless identified can cause a lot of further issues, including work issues, relationship issues and even health scares. How can you move forward?
First, find out what it is that you tend to procrastinate. Try and visualize what it would be like to finish the task, and finish it successfully. What can you do to take a step forward in that direction? What would it feel like if you gave yourself time?
Create a list. How can you break it down into bite-size pieces? It depends on the task at hand, but start by setting a deadline and then take steps backwards.
If you are more of a rewards/punishment type person, check out procrasdonate.com, the “charitable incentive to procrastinate less.” The only problem with this one is that if giving is your punishment, you’re less likely to stop!
