Take a Pilgrimage to the New Golden Bridge

Throngs of yoga students have seemingly made pilgrimages to Golden Bridge, Los Angeles’ epicenter of Kundalini yoga, to be taught by Gurmukh, one of the loveliest, both in body and soul, yoga legends and celebrity yoga gurus. The only problem with her extreme popularity and fanatical fan-base was that the modest studio squeezed in as many students as it could possibly accommodate, leaving Angelenos sweating mat-to-mat; literally. To solve the space issue and make Golden Bridge a full-service mecca, the owners have moved, expanded, and added a plethora of bells and whistles, turning the once humble yoga studio into a holistic destination.

Yoga students can now spread out in the new 18,000-square-foot digs, which includes 5 studios, the Ron Teeguarden herb shop and tonic bar, the Night Moon Cafe, the Marketplace filled with yoga clothes and necessities, and the Amrit Davaa Wellness Center complete with 5 treatment rooms offering everything from acupuncture and ayurvedic treatments to nutritional counseling. In order to attract yogis whose practice includes more than Kundalini, there are now an average of twenty daily classes taught by fifty teachers who lead students in a range of Hatha yoga classes: including Anusara and Divine Flow, as well as Mommy and Me, Pre-Natal, Belly Dancing, and the hottest trend in fitness, ‘Budokon’, a combination of martial arts and yoga. Most weekends are highlighted by special events and concerts that can accommodate as many as 600 people, each in hopes of finding some sort of enlightenment, ease, or an afternoon away from the Hollywood hustle. Golden Bridge is now located at: 6322 De Longpre Avenue (near Sunset and Vine). For more information, call (323) 936-4172 or visit goldenbridgeyoga.com
