Upcycling is having a moment, and it’s no wonder.

“Given the incredible rate of consumption since the Industrial Revolution, there’s more than enough second hand material out there to generate whole new economies of products,” responded Chere Di Boscio, Editor in Chief, Eluxe Magazine. when we asked for her take on the rising upcycling trend. “Luckily, increasing numbers of designers – of clothing, accessories and even furniture – are acknowledging this, and are putting their creative skills to good use by using materials that would otherwise go to waste.”

These environmentally friendly products are fashioned from rescued excess materials, reducing water consumption and carbon emissions by avoiding the use of virgin materials.
