We were intrigued by Forbes.com recent article suggesting the 10-day vacation is the one we should strive for. Here are their reasons:
1. 10 Days gives you enough time to surrender. It generally takes a few days to unwind into the process and oftentimes that’s when we are returning home.
2. Travel consumes less of your total vacation time. If it takes your half-day to an entire day to get there, why only stay for a few days?
3. If travel takes up so much time, longer destinations are more feasible with a 10-day retreat.
4. This might be my favorite: You’re gone long enough that you’re FORCED to off-load your duties at work! Ha, no working while vacatoning!
5. You properly budget for 10 days instead of winging 3. Nothing like getting hit with a giant bill from a short vacation. For a longer stint, you’re more apt to prepare financially and make more sense out of spending a big chunk.
