The Psychology of Happy and Why You Can’t Reach it

Many people have the same type of problems. Although we feel different, every human will experience some type of depression, sadness and stress. For some, these periods last longer than others.

Many people have core emotions that become unprocessed and fear can ruin the show. Fear based habits are often unnoticed because they become so habitual. So many of us walk around a shell of human because we are scared.

I work with a lot of client in my coaching practice, and every single one of them reaches out to a life coach because they don’t know how to push through the fear.

The most dominant emotion that drives stress is fear, which can turn into a variety of emotions, worry, stress, anxiety and even physical pain.

At the core of all of us we want to be safe and we want to feel connected to one another, but we all walk around with a fear mind set, that we are wounded hurt or broken.

The reason happiness has become a wide spread bandwagon full on phenomenal is because humans have forgot how to be happy. Those that have tapped into the ever-illusive happiness have something, so many of us want. The seem to have figures out the secret ingredient to a magic life. But there is no secret to a rewarding life. What it comes down to is the happiest people are not any different then those how feel fear. They still feel stress, anxiety and sometimes panic. But people who are happy know the three essential habits to pulling out of fear. The best way to fight depression and stress is to be present.

The “be here now” notion from of the 1960s, which increased the happy inner peace movement has been lost. The most widespread connection between people is their attitude toward life. The majority of us are preoccupied with the past or worries about the future.

Focusing on regrets or what we cannot control. The reality is we are not able to relax in the moment.

Focusing on your past and the “what ifs,” or dreading the what might happen in the future — will only lead to depression. There is no way to feel better unless you turn your attention to the present. There is only here and now.

There is power in a smile. Many people who are consumed with worry forget to smile. People who smile are more comfortable and at ease with life and themselves. Sometimes just smiling is enough to brighten your day.

A freelance writer, Shannon Kaiser  learned about the power of a smile from Dr. Lance Heppler, an Astoria dentist.
