Cleansing Concoctions

Mix up one of the following enlivening elixirs for a tasty drink that can help you heal.

Detox Blend

Ingredients:

5 – 7 carrots

3 – 4 fresh celery stalks

1 small or medium beet

(Optional: 1/2 apple)

Instructions: Juice and drink.

Autumn Rejuvenation Ration

Ingredients:

3 cups spring water

1 tablespoon ginger root, chopped

1-2 tablespoons miso paste (do not boil)

1-2 stalks green onion, chopped cilantro, to taste, chopped

1-2 pinches cayenne pepper

2 teaspoons olive oil

juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions: Boil water. Add ginger root. Simmer 10 minutes. Stir in miso paste to taste. Turn off burner. Add green onion, cilantro, cayenne, olive oil, and lemon juice. Remove and cover to steep for 10 minutes.

Detox Dos and Don’ts:

• Avoid ingesting chemicals by minimizing your intake of meat, refined foods, sugar, salt, saturated fats, coffee, alcohol, and nicotine.

• Eat organic food.

• Drink 6-8 glasses of purified water daily.

• To encourage elimination, increase your fiber intake by adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet.
