Recipe courtesy of Two Cuties in the Kitchen
Ingredients
- 4 bell peppers in different colors, washed and seeded
- 1 large carrot, washed, skinned and cut into thin “sticks” + more for “beaks”
- toothpicks
- food safe markers
- Tzatziki dip or hummus for filling “turkeys”
Preparation
- Cut tops off of peppers and reserve. Remove seeds. Cut one into thin strips. Cut reserved tops into thin strips too.
- Cut a “head” shape into the 3 remaining peppers.
- Slice a few slices off of a small carrot or carrot tip. Slice diagonally to make “beaks”.
- Stick beaks to “turkeys” using 1 toothpick per turkey beak.
- Let your little chef fill the bell pepper turkeys with desired filling. Using a spoon, scoop filling into turkey cups…
- Add the pepper strip and carrot stick “feathers”…
- Let your little chef draw a face on the turkeys using food safe markers…
- If you’re going to let little ones eat the peppers right away, remove the toothpicks prior to serving… and then, enjoy!
