I recently switched to a new and solid cleanser, one that my mom and grandmother have always used: Pond’s Cold Cream.
And okay, it’s not a food (though cold cream usually contains several ingredients you may have in your kitchen).
I like this cleanser because it’s extremely simple, nontoxic and effective. You can buy it at any grocery store and it’s rarely more than $5.
It’s a blend of water, mineral oil and beeswax designed to smooth skin and remove makeup. Ever since I met a beekeeper who swore by the antiaging effects of beeswax, I’ve been hooked. Variations of the product have been used for nearly two-thousand years. The original formula for cold cream also contained olive oil and rose water.
I know that this is not only a great moisturizer, but an awesome cleanser too -even when I wash my face in the morning (after having washed it before bed), it picks up hidden dirt I didn’t even know could accumulate while you sleep. Some people worry that it might feel greasy, but when used properly by wiping off with a warm washcloth, it’s not greasy at all. This is the only product that is tough enough to thoroughly remove my waterproof mascara while never, ever burning my eyes!
Men have reported on forums that the product even soothes razor burn. I have a feeling I won’t be buying any of those newfangled, drying cleansers again!
