Jocelyna Dubuc, president and founder of Spa Eastman, Spa Eastman in Montreal, and Spa Eastman Žle des Soeurs, is a pioneer in the integrated health vacation industry. A sojourn to India initiated Dubuc’s interest in wellness. “India was a completely different way of living. In India, I learned more about naturopathy and natural healing, which was always in harmony with current circumstances, i.e. being poor or handicapped did not prevent them from being happy.”
Upon her return, Duboc dove into the worlds of naturopathy, applied kinesiology, gentle exercise, dreamwork, healthy eating, and psychosynthesis. She opened Spa Eastman in Quebec, a sanctuary where university credentialed kinesiologists and gourmet chefs converge with naturopaths and spa therapists to create a comprehensive personalized lifestyle and detox program. Dubuc explains Spa Eastman as, “A real destination spa, meaning that our first mission is to create an environment where people are able to learn how to improve their way of life. We tailor our services according to our client’s needs.” Since the unveiling of the first Spa Eastman, two additional resorts have opened, expanding the trademark of “Divine Peace.”
Dubuc’s influence has exceeded the borders of her spas, significantly impacting the industry as a whole as the founder of the Spa Association “Relais Sant©,” a committee created to advance, educate, and standardize the business. Acknowledging the impact she has made, Dubuc was recently inducted into the Canadian Tourism Hall of Fame. For more information visit www.spa-eastman.com
