Dear Tanya, What advice would you give to clients trying to make the most of their spa experience?

Excellent question! There are a number of simple things you can do to get the most benefit and enjoyment out of your time at the spa, whether it is for one hour or a full day. First and foremost, don’t be rushed. Arrive early, and if you can, stay late. This allows you to take full advantage of the spa’s facilities, relaxation room, etc., and eliminates a lot of stress. Second, drink plenty of water before and after your treatment. Avoid heavy meals that day and skip the alcohol altogether. Most spa treatments increase circulation and aid in detoxification, processes the body responds best to when hydrated and fueled with nutrient-dense foods. Last, breathe deeply and try not to bring yesterday’s work stress and tomorrow’s to-do list along with you. Focus on the very sensual experience at hand and enjoy!
