To Rinse Or Not To Rinse that is the Question

Should you floss your teeth before or should you do it after you brush your teeth?  Should you rinse your mouth with water or not? We thought we could clear up some rumors, so we consulted with the leading experts in the medical and dental field.

First of all, brushing and flossing your teeth daily is an essential part of your overall oral health care routine. Prevention is the best way to have healthy teeth. When you floss and brush your teeth on a daily basis, you protect your teeth from future damage.

Should you rinse after brushing?

Many people rinse their mouth with water after brushing their teeth. “The last step many of us take in our tooth brushing routine is to rinse out our mouths with a little water. As it turns out, that’s actually a bad idea.”

In reality, when you do this, you’re just washing off the film from the toothpaste.

Use a mouthwash for best results.

The best time to use a mouthwash is not right after you brush your teeth. Don’t use mouthwash straight after brushing your teeth. Instead, choose a separate time, such as after lunch”

Should you floss before or after you brush your teeth?
