Wondering which nail issues signal that you could be dealing with a serious problem? Keep an eye out for the following symptoms in the days and weeks after your pedicure, to be sure that your feet and nails stay happy, healthy and beautiful.
- Thickened, yellowed nail (sign of fungus)
- Pain under and around nails
- Pimple-like blister or boil that grows (sign of bacterial infection)
- Small red bumps
- Foot rash
If you notice any of these symptoms, or experience other pain, see a podiatrist right away, as catching an infection early can help reduce its severity. You might be prescribed a course of antibiotics to heal an infection, or an oral medication to eliminate fungus. With a little medical attention, you can avoid big problems and get your feet feeling fine once more.
