Swept away by fresh Pacific Coast air, a salty, cool breeze that brushes the skin, and locals offering subtle smiles and friendly chats, I’ve just arrived in San Francisco, California. My home away from home.
Known for shopping, nightlife, and fancy food, this is the city of fog and fabulousness. Peel back the layers of glitter and West Coast glitz and you arrive in a luxurious, pampered perfection. A city that hosts wellness wonders for the mind, body, and spirit.
San Francisco, a seven-by-seven-mile peninsula, packs a lot into its little punch. Locals tell me to always look up: this city’s magic is in the details. You’ll notice the crooked Victorian rooflines, wind-sculpted treetops, and fog folding over the Golden Gate Bridge. The architecture is breathtaking; unique pockets of bay windows overlap street views and city sidewalks. While looking up, you may notice the large Hotel Huntington neon sign towering above Nob Hill streets. It’s a Nob Hill landmark in itself.
Below is The Scarlet Huntington, where I’ve just checked in and am greeted with gentle charm. This boutique hotel is elegant, with Asian-inspired influences blended with Victorian touches. An artistic combo with textured walls, acute attention to detail, and graceful staff, this is the place to stay in the city. (pull quote)
I’m escorted to my one-bedroom suite, a 715-square-foot space decorated with Victorian details like a yellow couch with punches of red pillows, accompanied by black leather chairs and an art deco-detailed patterned carpet.
There is a separate living and dining area. Adorned with fine fabrics consisting of Imperial yellow, gold, and black with silk-like draperies in hues of mink and trimmed in fuchsia, this suite saturates me in a perfect urban escape.
I immediately rejuvenate and relax in the luxurious oversized soaking bathtub; it is artfully designed with plush finishes accompanied with L’Occitane beauty products.
The Scarlet Huntington is a blend of two worlds that invite ancient ritual and luminous charm into modern tweaks and special touches. It weaves together a vibrant Singapore Straits Chinese heritage with the high-fashion luxury of Nob Hill. The Scarlet Huntington offers an uninhibited haven in one of the city’s most alluring neighborhoods.
The Scarlet Huntington pays homage to the former Huntington Hotel’s illustrious legacy in Nob Hill. With its defining characteristics intact, it upholds a tradition of high standards and gracious service. What’s unique about this location, is the majority of the former Huntington Hotel’s devoted staff – many of whom have worked here for more than 20 years – greet guests with the same personalized service and attention that has graced this property for decades.
Here you can’t help but feel cared for, nurtured, and respected. Once you arrive, you are welcomed into the family. At The Scarlet Huntington, everyone is a star and pampered to the hilt.
To continue my pampered experience, I head through the lobby for a spa treatment at the Nob Hill Spa. I check in at the spa reception desk on the lobby level of The Scarlet Huntington.
I enjoy the spa facilities before my treatment. A tranquil sanctuary perched atop San Francisco’s prestigious Nob Hill, nestled conveniently inside The Scarlet Huntington. The spa has gathered inspiration from many of San Francisco’s cultures to create a memorable experience. Here I can fully unwind, relax, and reconnect to the gentle pleasures of life.
I start my relaxation with a deep soak in the hot tub and swim gently in the infinity pool that overlooks Nob Hill’s peaceful residential neighborhood.
I am called for my treatment; I prepare for the Magnesium Wellness Treatment, the ultimate wellness treatment that combines the benefits of dry brushing to promote lymphatic drainage, therapeutic massage, and the power of magnesium to promote detoxification and replenish commonly deficient levels. My therapist has perfected the method; a soothing touch mixed with magnesium detoxes my skin and replenishing my soul.
After my treatment I feel balanced, cared for, and more peaceful. I am encouraged to relax longer and enjoy the spas facility even more.
Notable is the spa cuisine, which seems to be a signature favorite. I can enjoy healthy selections while I relax by the poolside. Each dish is crafted to offer lighter fare combining the unique flavors of San Francisco. I sip on a sparkling watermelon refresher with lime and mint and consider ordering the prawn and lobster spring roll: fresh Maine lobster, prawns, daikon, carrot, mint, cilantro, and crispy romaine, with sesame dipping sauce.
The Nob Hill Spa is an award-winning wellness destination, named among the Top 50 U.S. Hotel Spas by Conde Nast Traveler in 2014. It rises to the occasion of taking care of you.
Pampered perfection in luminous style is the focus for The Scarlet Huntington and Nob Hill Spa. When you come, you are invited to relax and come home to your home away from home. With little to no effort at all, you will return to your best self. Fresh, rejuvenated, balanced, and alive.
Enjoy your stay—it’s well worth it, because you are worth it.
