Be on the look out for hexavalent chromium, the chemical and thought to be carcinogen made infamous by Erin Brockovich, was recently found in 31 out of 35 U.S. cities.
The highest levels of hexavalent chromium, a commonly used industrial chemical in the 90s, were found in Norman, Oklahoma where the water contained more than 200 times the California goal of .06 parts per billion.
