A lot of people work really hard to try to lose weight. But despite their hard efforts the number on the scale doesn’t move. If you’re not losing weight, but you are trying to lose weight, maybe you hidden habits are hurting you.
You are a Cardio Manic
Some people try to lose weight by going into the gym and working out for hours. They become cardio maniacs. They work out for many hours at a time with little to no results. But if the scale isn’t budging it could be because you are working yourself to hard, when we do this our body goes into protection mode.
If you’re not eating enough calories this could be a contrast that will prevent you from losing weight as well.
Paused the Protein
In the beginning of any weight-loss journey, the goal should be small such as aiming for 1-2 pounds a week. Anything more like losing 5 to 10 pounds could become difficult and unhealthy. If you’re not eating enough protein you could be putting your body in danger. Protein is one of the best foods to help build lean muscle mass. It helps build strong lean muscle mass and can burn fat in the body. Good sources of protein include fish, eggs, and peanut butter.
You’re not Getting Enough Sunshine
Go play outside and get a mega dose of vitamin D. Many people don’t think that vitamin D is associated with weight loss, but new studies show that vitamin D can actually help prevent weight gain and many other health issues.
You Don’t Know Your Food Allergies
You maybe eating healthy perhaps you’ve eliminated sugar and junk food, but if you’re eating the wrong food for your body type then you could be hindering your weight loss.
Some people are allergic to gluten, wheat or dairy and they don’t even realize it. It’s important to know what your food allergies are in order to avoid them to help you maintain a positive body image.
To test for food allergies, eliminate it from the diet to see how your body reacts. If you eliminate something such as gluten and you’re no longer bloated and you actually lose weight that could be your answer.
You’re not brushing your teeth
Funny thing is that people who brush their teeth especially after every meal often lose weight. This is because it keeps your teeth clean and your oral health is tied to your overall health. People don’t usually overeat when they have that fresh clean mouth feel, says Dr. Melissa Beadnell a dentist in Portland, OR.
