But it doesn’t have to be this way. Many people use work as an excuse to be healthy, but it is easier than you think to take care of yourself at work. Working long hours can make us tired, but that doesn’t mean your health has to suffer. These tips can help.
1. Take a lunch break
Set time aside to get out of the office, take a lunch away from your desk. This can help you get in touch with your emptions and process work stress. Sometimes people overeat when they eat at their desk or in the office. Take a mini break for at least 30 min.
2. Always leave your desk to eat
You can eat in the lunch room, conference room or better yet go to a park outside. Eating at your desk tricks your brain into eating faster, which can often cause that afternoon nap loll.
3. Walk it off
Many companies will promote health and fitness by giving employees gym discounts or memberships. But breaking away becomes difficult. Instead of trying to set aside time to work out, do mini walks during the day. Keep walking for great health.
4. Drink more water
Shoot for eight cups. That way, if you have slightly less, you’re still likely to be hydrated.
5. Bring your toothbrush
Eating lunch and snack during the day can hurt your teeth. Dr. Marostica, a dentist in Tigard at TenderCare Dental says that, “Many people don’t realize that their workday habits are actually contributing to cavties and other health problems.”
Cavities happen not from the foods we eat but how long the food sticks around in our mouth. So sugar is not bad for your health if you brush it away.
