If you’ve tried to break a bad habit, such as an addiction or pattern that no longer serves you but have not felt successful, it’s okay. Instead of looking at the situation as a problem try looking at it a new way.
I spent years trying to break different bad habits. Whether it was quitting smoking, which I finally did cold turkey, walking away from toxic relationships, no more bad romance for this chick, or eliminating sugar, I learned that until I was really ready, nothing would or could ever change.
If you are struggling to break a habit, there is a reason it is still in your life. As Pema Cordon says “Nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to learn.”
Acceptance is the key. Trust that you are right where you need to be in your life.
Change has to happen from you and no one else can do it for you, until you are really ready change won’t stick. Weather you want to stop over eating, workout more or stop fighting with your main squeeze, these tips will help.
Focus on the Solution not the Problem.
Many people stay stuck because they actually focus on what they don’t want or what is not working in their life. This method does not help you break out of the pattern. We get what we focus on in life. If you are focusing on what you don’t want, you will get more of what you don’t want. Instead focus on the solution and healing of the problem.
Put your Health First.
Chances are you are focusing on the problem more than the solution. One easy way to get out of the trap is to focus on your health and wellbeing. Visit he doctor and dentist regularly, don’t fall behind on check ups. When you do it causes a back up of guilt and often more health issues which investable can cause more stress.
