Caffeine is a morning favorite for many people, but drinking it isn’t the only thing you can do to uplift your mood. New research shows that coffee beans, kava and coffee extract can help stimulate your cells as well.
Emerging spa trends are showing the use of coffee in spa treatments. Coffee can brighten the skin tone, stimulate blood cells and invigorate your mode. It provides a lift to the mood which can enhance any spa going experience.
Some people avoid caffeine because they are sensitive but a spa treatment can help ease the discomfort.
There are many benefits to coffee, for many years physicians have been warning people about the down side of coffee but the benefits, as far as healing therapies go far out weigh them.
- Prevents Oral Cancer
A recent study discovered that individuals who drank four or more cups of coffee a day had over a 50 percent lower risk of death from oral cancers in a 25-year time frame. Dentist and doctors have just begun research discovering the link between coffee and oral health cancer prevention, says Dr. Robert Thompson a dentist in Portland, OR.
- Increase Motivation and Strength
The New York Times reports, “Scientists and many athletes have known for years, of course, that a cup of coffee before a workout jolts athletic performance, especially in endurance sports like distance running and cycling.” Caffeine increases the number of fatty acids in the bloodstream, which allows athletes’ muscles to absorb and burn those fats for fuel, therefore saving the body’s small reserves of carbohydrates for later on in the exercise.
- Reduce Skin Cancer Risk
Harvard Medical School followed 112,897 men and women over a 20-year period and women who drink three or more cups of coffee a day are much less likely to develop skin cancer than those who don’t.
- Prevents Diabetes
One of the latest studies, published in April 2012 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition1, confirms earlier studies that coffee may actually reduce your risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
- Super Skin Supplement
Drinking coffee may help you to fight off the most diagnosed form of skin cancer! A recent study in the journal Cancer Research that looked specifically at the caffeine in coffee demonstrated that coffee drinkers had a lower risk of developing basal cell carcinoma. Many spa treatments will use kava root in their skin therapies to help improve skin health.
