Cavallo Point Spa calls the facial I received their “Cavallo Signature Facial”, but I will always remember it fondly as “The Endless Facial”. You know the kind I’m talking about, where the hot towels follow the facial massage, which comes after the extractions. And then there are lotions and steams and just when you think it’s over, the foot massage begins and you realize there’s even more blissful pampering ahead.

Cool air was blown gently on my face, essential oils were expertly applied while Healing Lifestyles & Spas’ Earth Day Beauty Award winning Amala line of organic skin care were utilized at every turn. There were masks involved, (at least three), and not just one, but at least two head massages. The endless facial seemed to go on and on in the best possible way, and it was, in ‘short’, just the kind of facial I like.

When it was all over, I made my way to the Cavallo Spa outdoor meditation pool with a steaming cup of lavender lemon tea and floated gently in the calm of the water. After a steam in their eucalyptus steam room and some time spent lounging in front of one of the spa’s two outdoor fire pits, I was ready to explore the rest of the lodge. There had to more to this bliss than just the spa!

Cavallo Point offers complementary yoga classes morning and evening and so I headed over to their on-site chapel to try out the evening yoga class. I was lucky enough to be the only student there so the warm and wonderful teacher offered me the choice of a private lesson or a Thai massage which is (basically a “passive yoga” massage). I chose the massage before the words were even out of her mouth and soon found myself being pleasantly pulled and stretched into an even deeper state of relaxation and calm.

With stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay, Cavallo Point Lodge is a one of a kind property. Known for their commitment to sustainability, the Lodge incorporates green features into every aspect of their design. In addition to the amazing views of the bay, our beautiful Deluxe King room featured organic linens, bamboo furnishings and radiant floor heat. I particularly appreciated that they offer Numi Organic Teas in-room as well as cold filtered water in the fridge.

And the final note-worthy amenity, Cavallo Point Lodge touts a “dog-friendly” tag! Our pooch was welcomed with pleasure and there were ample water bowls, doggie bags and other dog amenities throughout the property. A morning walk along the beach in front of the lodge had my canine companion frolicking in pleasure, deep in her own “doggie spa” experience.
