This season amp yourself up and be prepared. You’ll find you might not just lessen the severity of your colds and illnesses, but you might diminish them altogether.
1. Skip the caffeine. Sorry guys, but Ayurvedic doctors suggest that caffeine stresses your adrenal glands making it harder for you to fight off illness. Try Teeccino instead.
2. Change your yoga practice. Instead of sticking with the same routine, try different teachers that might get you out of your typical movement patterns. Heart-opening poses help increase blood flood to a host of glands, and also increase circulation as well as energy.
3. Try Ashwagandha. This Ayurvedic herb is known as a powerful energy and immune-system booster. It helps you manage stress as well, an unfortunately side-effect to the holiday season.
4. Self massage. Try avocado, coconut or sesame oil and give yourself a daily massage before you shower. This lubrication will help decrease dehydration and well also boost your immunity as you help your lymph system function more efficiently.
5. Slow down. This one is a no brainer but also one of the most difficult habits to instill during the holidays. No one ever said we had to do so much so why not change your past patterns and slow down a bit? Your body will thank you!
