Golden Door Labyrinth Journey
Pause, take a deep breath, and step forward. Set your own pace as you walk the labyrinth before you. Designed to quiet the mind and promote self-discovery, the labyrinth has been around for centuries. Found in Cretan coins, the Tree of Life in Jewish Kabbalah, and the Hopi Medicine Wheel, this ancient method of healing and transformation allows those walking its graceful circles a moment of introspection. Deborah Szekely, the founder of the Golden Door in Escondido, California, chose to have a labyrinth at her property after witnessing its transformative effects in Europe. The Golden Door’s labyrinth is a replica of the floor labyrinth found in the Chartres Cathedral. The classic, eleven-circuit design has one path that takes you to the center and back out again. While the labyrinth is available for guests to walk anytime of day, the candlelight labyrinth walk on Saturday evening is a meditative and blissful way to end your week-long stay.
