Taking Care of Your Teeth Could Relieve Arthritis

0

Recent research shows that treating mouth conditions can actually relieve arthritis. Studies have shown that some patients with specific types of arthritis are now more likely to suffer from tooth loss and other diseases of the mouth.

Gum disease also known as periodontal disease, is one of the most common diseases in oral health care. Gum disease is most often associated with inflamed gums, it can lead to loss of bone and tissues around the mouth that support the teeth.

It is estimated that over 60% of the worlds population will suffer or already suffers from periodontics disease. With arthritis, the body suffers an acute attack of the healthy tissues in the joints that lead to bone loss and inflammation of the cartilage.

This can be very painful and it will almost always impact the regular mouth joint function. Research shows the bone loss is connected to gum disease and arthritis, which can cause immense amounts of pain.

Although the relationship between both of these common diseases is not a simple one, in fact it’s rather complex, there are many things that we can learn from this recent study.

Taking care of your mouth is an extremely important aspect of your overall health. Makes sure you’re brushing your teeth every day and flossing regularly.

The more you take care of your oral health the better your overall health will be.

This recent study that links arthritis to gum disease is an important one for the development and future of healthcare.
