Are you trying to lose weight but seem to have hit an invisible wall. Here are 5 reasons you may not be able to lose weight.

1. You’re cardio queen

Cardio is a sure fire way to slim the waist but you could be over doing it on the treadmill. If you are doing long cardio sessions you body may go into freak out mode and hold on the its energy aka fat. Instead of breaking your body build up over time. Introduced linger workouts every other day. Also recognize that muscle does weigh more than fat, naturally when you start to increase your cardio, your muscles strengthen and you lose weight but muscle is gained.

2. Fruit is your go to snack

Many dieters turn to fruit because it is a sweet low calorie low fat snack, but watch out slim setters, this food is packed with sugar. If all you eat is watermelon and apples you will still be overdosing on sugar. It is best to balance with healthy proteins and regulate your body by drinking water.

If you’re trying to lose weight, fruit intake should be limited to those with a combination of low carbohydrate content and high amounts of antioxidants like berries and pitted fruits.

3. You’re eating to few calories

Most calorie crunchers assume that if restricting calories will help them lose weight, but the opposite is true if you go to low on the calories. Your body may go into starvation and this will eventually turn against you.

4. You’re not getting enough water

Many people walk around dehydrated and don’t even realize it. Do you ever notice after hot yoga session the pounds you drop. You may be thinking oh wow super slim me, but the very next hour you weight more. This is water weight and it fluctuates minute by minute, drinking water will hydrate your body and regulate you body’s normal weight.

5. You’re stressed out

Any type of stress (physical, emotional, chemical) will causes the body to enter into a state of over protection, also known as “fight or flight.” This will naturally keep insulation on you. Practice stress relief habits like meditation, exercise and relaxing, says the rep at Majestic Eagle Agency, insurance Portland.
