Want to enjoy the summer sun without your skin paying the price? Prevention is half the cure when it comes to summer proofing your skin. Plan ahead and develop a summer sun toolkit that can protect and heal your skin.
1. Find the right protection sungear-you’ll need at least one hat (and probably more than one) that is both stylish and gets the job done. Of course you’ll want to find a hat that looks good on you but also make sure it provides appropriate sun coverage. Decide on your summer “look”, are you more a floppy hat old time movie star girl, or a revolutionary “Che” hat style? A straw cowboy hat can provide good coverage, or maybe a simple baseball cap is your thing. Whatever your look, try it on and make sure your sun hat is both durable and comfortable, so you can be sure to get lots of use out of it.
2. Pick your sunproofing products-if you’ll be in and out of the water a lot, try and find a water proof sunscreen. It can be hard to find effective natural sunscreens that are truly waterproof, so you may want to go with a water resistant sunscreen that you reapply frequently. If you’ll be socializing and want to look your best, try sunscreens that have sparkly enhancements or bronzers.
3. Have after sun care handy-Whether you just keep an aloe plant alive and available for sunburn care, or you have a whole line of after sun care products on hand, it’s good to have remedy’s for those times when it’s hard to avoid too much sun. Keep a refreshing toner in the fridge to spritz yourself
