Fall is a great time to reboot your diet, whether through a full-blown cleanse or just by making a few modifications to your daily routine.
Typically, the best time of year to detox is at the turn of the season, especially fall and spring. During this time your body is already making changes to prepare for the upcoming season, and with the winter being the season when our body’s typically ward-off the most junk, getting it in tip-top shape should be your priority.

Detox Smoothies
Look to your smoothies to help neutralize, detoxify and enhance your diet. Full of antioxidants and phytonutrients, smoothies can help you feel fully energized and leave you glowing.
We’ve selected our 10 favorite recipes to help you shift from blah to ahh!

- Crazy Sexy Green. This juice recipe comes from Kris Carr, who suggests adding cucumber to juices and smoothies to help balance alkalinity levels in the body. This recipe requires a juicer. Combine 1 large cucumber, 1 “fistful” kale, 1 “fistful” romaine, 2-3 stalks celery, 1 big broccoli stem, 1 green apple and ½ peeled lemon. JUICE.
- Crazy Sexy Goddess: Another Kris Carr favorite, combine 1 avocado, 1 banana, 1 cup blueberries, 1 cucumber, 1 “fistful” greens, coconut water and sweetener to taste in a high-speed blender. (She recommends stevia.)
- “PB& J”: A favorite of my kids, mix 1 cup nondairy milk of your choice with 2 cups fresh berries. Add one small orange, one banana, 1 cup greens (we like spinach), and 1 tbs. almond butter.
- Gut Love: Add kefir to your smoothies for its probiotic qualities. Mix 1 cup coconut kefir with 1 frozen banana and ½ to 1 cup frozen berries.
- Blueberry Ginger: Combine 1 cup coconut or almond milk with 1 cup frozen blueberries, ½ banana and 2-3 tbs. ginger juice.
